24 day Capricorn Adventure. South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Moçambique

Day 14 & 15: Mount Mulanje - Malawi

An early start takes you to the impressive Mount Mulanje, which is one of the most impressive sights in Malawi. Unique forests of Mulanje cedar cover the slopes. You hike into the mountain, and return to your base camp in the late afternoon. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 16: Chicamba Area - Mozambique

You cross the Zambezi River at Tete and enter the scenic eastern highland mountains with their many scattered traditional African Villages. The evening is spent around the campfire enjoying the solitude of our bush camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 17 & 18: Vilanculos - Mozambique

You set up camp overlooking the azure waters of the Moçambique coast. Days are spent at leisure swimming, simply relaxing on the beach or enjoying one of the optional activities including snorkeling and diving (own expense). In the evenings you sample the local seafood cooked over an open fire.

Day 19 & 20: Morrongulu - Mozambique

Crossing the Tropic of Capricorn we travel south to Morrongulu. Our delightful campsite under the coconut palms near the wide deserted beaches, allows us to swim during the day in the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean. From here it is possible to enjoy deep-sea fishing and scuba diving or snorkelling the colourful reefs off the coastline (own expense). Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 21: Casa Lisa - Mozambique

The colourful and vibrant local markets, the social and economic hub of life in the towns and villages, provide the visitor with an insight into the richness of local culture. Your camp at Casa Lisa is situated north of Maputo. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 22 & 23: Safari in Kruger National Park

You travel to the famous wildlife sanctuary of the Kruger National Park, one of the oldest game reserves in Africa, where you spend your time exploring on early morning and late afternoon game drives observing numerous species of animals and birds. You relax in camp during midday. Optional night game drive (own expense). Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 24: Johannesburg

After an early morning game drive you leave Kruger Park ending at +-16h00. Breakfast and Lunch.

Salt Pans of Makgadikgadi
Although this park contains large salt pans, the ones outside the national park are the largest in the world. The pans were formed as Lake Makgadikgadi - a superlake almost 30 metres (100 feet) deep - evaporated as the climate changed.

Wildlife of South Luangwa
South Luangwa is almost crowded it has so many animals and birds. The Luangwa River has hundreds of Crocodile and Hippopotamus, and Lion and Leopard are frequently spotted on night drives. You may also see rare Wild Dog and Thornicroft's Giraffe.
