Day 1: Johannesburg or Cape Town - Upington, South AfricaOptional departure from Johannesburg or Cape Town, you will head to Upington, a principal town of the Northern Cape Province. Spend the evening camping on the banks of the Orange River. (Dinner) |
Day 2: Fish River Canyon, NamibiaThe scenery that greets you this morning on your Namibia safari tour as you cross into Namibia will impress you. You will immediately notice the stark change in landscape. After settling up camp and exploring the area, you enjoy watching the sunset over the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. (Breakfast, Dinner) |
Day 3: Aus, NamibiaThis morning you have time to explore the Canyon before you take a relaxed drive to Aus, a small town on the edge of the desert. You camp amongst the rocky hills. There is the opportunity to go hiking. The afternoon is spent on an excursion looking for the famous 'desert horses'. Breakfast and Dinner. |
Days 4 & 5: Sesriem, NamibiaYou drive north towards Sesriem. The scenery as you approach the dunes will leave you breathless. You venture into Naukluft Park for great photo opportunities. The dunes of Sossusvlei are some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Take the challenge and see if you can make it the top! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. |
Days 6 & 7: Swakopmund, NamibiaThis morning you make the journey through the Namib-Naukluft Park and you will see spectacular scenery in colors straight from an artist's painting. The lunar landscape appears, as you get closer to the coast. You continue to the oasis town of Swakopmund.
You can relax on the beach, or partake in Namibia adventure activities such as go deep sea fishing, visit the seal colony, quad biking, parachuting or sand boarding on the dunes for a close up look at the landscape. The evening brings an opportunity to try some of the popular nightlife in this town. Breakfast. |
Day 8: Cheetah Farm, NamibiaLeaving the coast behind you head inland and northwards to your overnight stop at the Cheetah Farm. Here you have a unique experience awaiting you. You camp right next to the Cheetah Enclosure and have the chance to see these majestic animals close up. The brave can get very close as you feed the most effective 'watch dogs' in the world at the main house. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. |
