Days 9 & 10: Northern Lake MalawiYou continue a short way further along the northern part of the lake, close to the Livingstonia Mountains, where you will continue your relaxation for the next two days. Take a stroll through the nearby craft market and make friends with the friendly people of Malawi or take a hike if the weather is favorable. Enjoy optional activities such as Craft shopping, Livingstonia trip, hiking. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Day 11: Tanzania - IringaToday you make the border crossing out of Malawi. Leaving the lake behind you, you enter Tanzania and gain an hour as you cross into the East African time zone. You travel through spectacular mountain passes and pass the vast tea plantations in the highlands to your camp outside Iringa. The next day you transit through Mikumi National Park to the historical port city of Dar es Salaam. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Day 12: Dar es SalaamOnce you arrive in Dar es Salaam the guides will arrange the Zanzibar Ferry tickets for those that are going on the Zanzibar excursion. This is so you can leave for Zanzibar as early as possible on Day 13. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Days 13, 14 & 15: ZanzibarA ferry will take you to Zanzibar where you spend the next few days exploring this fascinating island with its renowned architecture, beautiful beaches, colourful people and history. The excursion is at your own expense and the cost can vary depending on your preferred level of accommodation and activities. Many groups disperse on Zanzibar as everyone is free to explore as they wish to.
One of the guides will accompany you to Zanzibar to provide information and assistance on the Island. Enjoy optional activities such as Zanzibar Excursion: Ferry, Food, Accommodation, Spice Tours, Dolphin Tours, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling. Breakfast (day 13 only). Other meals at own expense. Day 16: Zanzibar / Dar es SalaamToday you catch a late ferry (or flight) back to Dar es Salaam. You spend the evening recounting the experiences you had in Zanzibar. Dinner. Day 17: ArushaA long and scenic drive takes you to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. If there are clear skies en-route you might see Mt Kilimanjaro. After arriving in Arusha you prepare to explore the Serengeti National Park - one of the most abundant wildlife reserves in the world. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. |
